Christopher Nolan’s
breakthrough film is a harbinger of things that were to come, but also a
singular work in it’s own right. The central concept is worked to perfection,
with exemplar cinematic technique being used to depict the state of mind of
Leonard Shelby, played to subtle brilliance by Guy Pearce. More invention here
than in most directors’ whole back catalogues.
